SHUMBA is a coffee dryer with a modular bamboo structure, whose design not only serves as support for the drying beds inside but also makes use of the exterior with rest and exhibition areas, transforming it into an open classroom. Both interior and exterior spaces are integrated, with an innovative and versatile approach.

The bamboo structure is covered with polycarbonate sheets on the upper part of the module. As an enclosure, a solar tarp is installed, which, unlike traditional installations, has been designed as a camping tarp, featuring a more resistant fabric and a closure that allows it to be unrolled.

The design enhances the module’s versatility, allowing the solar tarp to be opened when the coffee needs direct exposure to the sun. To ensure its functionality, joints have been incorporated to facilitate the lifting of sections and doors. The fixed points of the tarp are supported by the bamboo structure and secured with self-tapping screws. Additionally, the solar tarp remains firmly in place with strips located at both the top and the base.
