The “Primary and secondary school, la Jalquilla” project is located in the northern part of Peruvian rainforest. The project will benefit more than 110 students of primary and secondary classes, in addition to providing sports and public infrastructure to the entire community.

The school consists of 3 blocks placed in the southwest area of the site, where the soil has the highest load-resistance.  On the north side there are the sports area, pedestrian paths and some green areas. The project includes 6 classrooms, restrooms, storage rooms, a kitchen, the administration office, the teachers’ lounge, a media library and large multipurpose covered areas. The proposal provides for brick volumes with large double-pitched roofs that generate spacious porches and walkways between covered plazas and green areas.  The positioning of the classroom blocks on the North-South axis favors indirect lighting, while the large porticoes create large shaded areas that encourage outdoor gatherings.
